It's car rental for the anti-social. You fill out an application online and Zipcar mails you a Zipcar "card." You then take it to a local Zipcar "garage," where you simply wave the card in front of the electronic lock to access your "Zipcar"—a rental Beetle, Jetta or Golf. No need to talk to anyone.
