Colin Sacks, the author of the recent interview with New York call girl "Linda" responds to a reader detraction, Since I am the person who did the interview w/Linda, I can assure both readers of gawker.com and the poster, Gina Spandafori, that it is entirely original. Clearly, if the 'reader' had actually read the interview she would not have made this ill-informed statement: the piece is an interview with a hooker named Linda not in interview with Sydney Biddle Barrows. Although the latter figures prominently into the story, Barrows is, ultimatley, only a tangent.
I find it nothing short of amazing (and irresponsible) that Ms. Spandafori, someone who claims knowledge of "fact checking" wouldn't understand that a hooker experience of working for Barrows would inevitably, in certain details, mirror the madam's experience. I also find it hilarious that the poster, Ms. Spadafori, someone who claims knowledge about "fact checking" (as
per her page) is serious since she obviously didn't (or couldn't) read "Catering" (the article) in its entirety! The article is about the first person experience of working for a madam, being assaulted, and New York in the late 70's. Again, had Ms. Spandafori actually read the piece, she might not have made such an embarassingly misinformed statement. Given the spectacularly inaccurate nature of Ms. Spandafori's comment, naturalbornhooker.com would be glad to provide a copy of the transcript so that she may have the opportunity to correct herself.
Okay. One looming question: who the fuck is Gina Spandafori?
