Brooklyn-based Cabinet magazine recently rented 10 pieces of real estate from the city. Lest you think Cabinet has acquired Conde Nast-level coffers, the properties in question are "microparcels"—tiny strips of land that were created by surveying errors. They're usually not more than a few feet or inches wide and are being purchased as a tribute to conceptual artist Gordon Matta-Clark who originally owned them as part of a project called "Reality Properties: Fake Estates" that was never exhibited.
