In this issue: Mos Def, Charlie Rose getting a free ride at Schiller's, Paul Rudd is "back," Candace Bergen, Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Liotta, Helena Christensen, Darryl Hannah with boytoy, Ethan Hawke, Karen Duffy, Michael Cavadias, Billy Joel and his childbride, and Kevin Bacon.
· Last Thursday, Mos Def rode the C train downtown, speaking to companions about soldiers dying in Iraq, Colin Powell, and the fundamental friendliness of Americans. But you only mention white people (and their significant others) so I won t expect to see this online.

· I saw Charlie Rose brunching at the LES overly hip hot spot, Schiller's on Sunday. It seems he was a little short on cash when it came time to pay the bill, though, and he promised he'd take care of it "next time." Hey I think I'll start trying that.
· Just saw Paul Rudd in the West Village. He stopped in the newsstand at 8th Ave. and W 12th to say hi to the clerks there, who he is apparently pretty chummy with...said they will be seeing him more often "now that he's back." (presumably back from shooting the final episodes of the crapfest known as "Friends.") He didn't buy anything but took a few moments to peruse the covers of the celeb gossip rags. Appearance-wise, looking pretty good...got a haircut and may even be back to his Clueless-era level of cuteness.
· Candace Bergen in mufti—in big Jackie O. shades actually—swanned into the Pain Quotidien on Madison at 84th, scoped the room in a way I can only say made anyone who hadn't already noticed her, look up and then look away in mock politesse. She unceremoniously grabbed a chair at the big communal table, dumped her satchel, squeezed herself in between two plump ladies lunching, and relinquished the shades. She got up once to browse the leftover sections of NYTimes on the sideboard, and by the time I left—a half hour later—she was still engrossed, papers all around her. Ponytail; grey turtleneck. She looked fucking fabulous.
· Last week, saw Jerry Seinfeld on the 81st Street B/C subway platform at about 8:00 a.m. The train came and he tried to squeeze his way into the packed car, but couldn't fit. Was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. Don't remember whether he was wearing white sneakers or not.
· Stepping out of Gigino's in Tribeca last night after dinner, we stood outside waiting for our group, and Ray Liotta was walking back in forth in front of Gigino's and ROC, looking distracted (cold?) while puffing away on his smoke, then back into ROC. His hair looked somewhat dyed and he seemed thin and tanned.
· I saw Helena Christensen this evening (2/7) on Bleecker Street near Marc Jacobs — perhaps she had just bought herself the pro-Hillary Clinton shirts they are hawking? Regardless, she was bundled up and with a friend — she towered over me (and her friend) and had almost non-human unbelievably defined cheekbones.
· saw darryl hannah at sunshine's 7:15 pm showing of 'the dreamers' on saturday, 2/7. she was sitting with a grungy man (resembling eddie vedder) right behind me. pre-movie, they cuddled and burrowed into each other a lot. she was wearing no makeup, red converse sneakers, jeans and a wooly blue hat. she looked young, like late 20s - early 30s. she was clearly trying not to be noticed or recognized.
· Thursday, Feb 5th saw Ethan Hawke on the downtown 1. He got on with me at 59th but stayed on after I exited at 42nd, sadly. He's much shorter than I thought he would be, no wonder Uma looks so tall, I'm 5'9 and I towered over him. He kept looking around and nervously ducking into his coat and covering his face, I'm thinking he's psychotic because absolutely noone was paying attention. Or perhaps he was just ducking from me since I was trying to seduce him, I'm officially a creepy stalker. =[
· last night, sunday feb. 8th, at around 6pm i spotted karen duffy AKA duff from mtv leaving siberia bar (at 40th and 9th), where the sign on the door said that "the dave hill show" was being taped there. duff looked really pretty and was wearing a big crazy fur hat and smiled at me. as she was walking out, michael cavadias (who played the really tall drag queen in "wonder boys") was walking in wearing a pinstripe suit with a big down jacket over it. he kept sneezing.
· Billy Joel and his barely legal girlfriend Kate Lee walking their dog inside the new AOL-TimeWarner mall. He's a short fellow. Joel that is, not the dog. The dog was wearing a neon pink sweater. Lee looked hot and had great skin. I didn't see either one of them stoop down to pick up the canine's crap. Also spotted Kevin Bacon walking into same mall, but he doesn't count, right? He does indeed have a tiny ass though.
