Low Culture did a greatest shits piece on Daily Candy last week which got me thinking of the mysterious hiatus of the weekly Daily Candy spots on CBS 2 New York's morning news show. The co-branded TV segments are still archived on the website but there hasn't been an update in quite some time. After Bob Pittman's purchase of Daily Candy, an effort must be underway to move the brand beyond appearances on morning news and talk shows. Perhaps a push for a national Daily Candy show? No doubt he had such grandiose plans when he plopped down $3M for an email newsletter. This makes even more sense when you factor his investment in Al Gore's new 20something channel. Hopefully, the DCTV shopping show will be a slutty version of QVC. Thank god founder Dany Levy is no longer the "face" of the company. They must keep her hidden in a Paxil bottle because I imagine she would spontaneously combust on television.
