Even if you're the type of music fan who's pondered long and hard on the nature of synth-punk-metal two-pieces, little can prepare you for Canada's Death From Above 1979. Effects-heavy bass (simply described by the band as sounding "like elephants") unites with skin-splitting kit-bashing for imposing twin pillars of sound.
