NYT: Changing The Rules So NYC Can Be #1

We've got some bad news. The American Podiatric Medical Association has released its annual rankings of the "10 best" walking cities in America and, after holding the top spot in 2003, New York has plummeted to seventh place. A moment of silence, please.

Now, are you offended? 'Cause you should be. You should be fucking APPALLED, like the Times' Clyde Haberman. Clyde can't BELIEVE New York isn't the BEST city EVER for WALKING! We're SO NOT THE BEST, we're actually BEHIND San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston. It seems that the Podiatrists' Club has changed their criteria (New Yorkers apparently don't buy enough athletic shoes or something), so Clyde wants that criteria CHANGED to include STROLLING. Then New York can go back to being THE WINNER! YEAH! ROCK!

    Slow day at Metro, gang.
