Yesterday afternoon we passed along word that Maer Roshan claimed last month's "first" issue of Radar had sold out in New York, Los Angeles, and Tampa. Here's the direct quote, reported by WWD's towering Jeff Bercovici, so you can't accuse us of bending Maer's words: "'We're sold out all over the country,' he claimed. 'You're expecting New York and L.A., but Tampa?'"
Moments later, naturally, the emails started arriving:
I totally call bullshit on Radar selling out in new york. I know of at least two places within 2 blocks of my east village apt that still have copies of Radar on sale. In fact, I bought my second copy the other day (it wasn't any funnier the second time around). I will try to produce photographic evidence to back this up. The lie shall not stand.
So get to it, New Yorkers, Angelenos, and Tampans: Is Radar really sold out? Photographic evidence preferred; anecdotal evidence accepted.
The lie shall indeed not stand.
