We actually chose not to mention this yesterday, as we're currently filled with the spirit of giving. The Times corrections column, however, has no such compunction:

The TV Watch column yesterday, about coverage of the transit strike, misspelled the surname of an "Eyewitness News" anchor on WABC. He is Steve Bartelstein, not Bertelstein.

We'd clarify that the TV watch column repeatedly misspelled his surname — no typo, this — and that the reporter responsible for it was — all together now — Alessandra Stanley.

In fairness, the names of public figures are so very difficult to look up.
