Gawker's Week in Review: It Is the (Oddly Warm) Winter of Our Discontent

    • Les Goodstein, Mort Zuck's top Daily News biz exec, pulls a Benedict Arnold and joins News Corp. It must have been all the nice things the Post has said about him that lured him crosstown.
    • Alessandra Stanley is the wrongest of all Times critics. But, then, we already knew that.
    • Judy Miller rides the subway. And presumably shvitzes on it.
    • Make your own Peter Braunstein. Fun for the whole family!
    • Thank you, NYPD, for saving us from J.Lo's wedding video. For the record, we, like the News, are opposed to cops getting shot, too.
    • Even Paul Lynde has straighter vacation photos than Ricky Martin does. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
    • Hallelujah! Krucoff returns from Israel, and he's promptly dragooned into Gawker service.
    • We have no idea what a lang syne is, but we hope yours is delightfully auld this weekend. We'll be back Tuesday, with Krucoff returned to his proper role as a butt of Gawker's taunts, not a propagator of them. Be careful out there, and catch you in the '06.
