Anyway, the word down in the valley on those other open source companies is that Jboss wanted too much money, and Ellison told them to go fuck themselves by standing up on the boardroom table and waving a katana around. Same for MySQL. The real poser is Zend, however. Their people have all been silent for two weeks now. Is this that fabled silent period we hear about from financial analysts?
It's a classic Valley story: Ellison consumes, the little guys gain millions in Oracle stock, and the rest of the world is left out of the party as Oracle slices up the legacy users.
