Last night, some awesomely catty bitches gave birth to Social Rank, a power ranking system for New York's "social elite." Finally, some organized, arbitrary judging that we can get behind. Plus, we're thrilled someone's taken the time to organize all the pretty rich girls for us, seeing as we can hardly tell one Hearst from another. But, thanks to whoever's behind this endeavor, we now know that Lydia Hearst is 1.2 points superior to her sister Amanda, as decided by a committee consisting of "three designers, four editors, two dames and one gentleman of the social scene, one gossip columnist and one party photographer" (which, in all likelihood, translates to "three Spence girls and a hanger-on from Dalton"). Whatever the list's true origins, we're praying it results in some hardcore hair-pulling.

For your quick reference, the Rank deems Tinsley Mortimer, Lauren Davis, and Margarita Missoni as the top 3 for the next two weeks, until the index is recalculated. And once the "committee" realizes Margarita is not a New York Blonde, you can expect some seismic shifts in the lineup.
