We missed this story on Sunday, but flackery on a level described therein deserves to be noted: Some people look at the recent foiled terror attacks and say why; the truly dedicated PR person looks at the recent foiled terror attacks and says, Why can't I use this to get my clients in the news?
Step forward Kate Laufer, director of media at Evins Communications (home of "'mass-tige' branding". Kate, show 'em how it's done:
"I was sitting here watching the news and thinking: 'I have this great butler who is an expert on packing and deals with the most elite travelers at the Lanesborough Hotel. I wonder what he would say about packing now in these changing times.' "
See what happened there? Not only did she get her client in the papers, she got herself in the papers for getting her client in the papers. That, my friends, is meta-flackery. Ronn [sic] Torossian, watch your ass.
