Jay Carney, the reporter for Time who falsely claimed that his magazine hadn't handled the JonBenet Ramsey piece, posted a retraction that's sure to warm the hearts of Time's PR department:
I want to thank everyone who caught and pointed out that I misspoke on the McLaughlin Group about Time magazine's coverage of the John Mark Karr story. When I made the comment, I honestly thought we had not written anything in the magazine itself; I was not referring to our website, where space is unlimited. But I missed the two pages, towards the end of the issue, that we gave to the story in our Aug. 28 print edition. My mistake.
Sounds fair to us. We tend to drift away after the funny quotes in the front of the book too.
