At first, we were heartened by today's news that the Dow broke 12,500 for the first time. After all, this means that the streets will be paved with gold, and we'll all be able to afford that Tribeca penthouse, and dinners at Per Se every night, right?

Well, no. All it means is that some rich schmucks who already have a lot of money now probably have even more money, leaving us poor schmucks to, once again, look longingly at them as they drive by in their Ferraris. Sniff.
