Been unemployed and had far too much time for introspection? If any of the above even sort of apply, then Gabrielle Bell's comic, Lucky, will appeal to you. It might appeal to you even if you've never left notes on the fridge with a passive-aggressive roommate, just because Bell's style is so appealing and her observational humor is so perfect: restrained yet biting and dead-on. She never editorializes, and her clean lines are easy on the eyes. We're a big comic book geek, but we've even been recommending Drawn and Quarterly's collection of the first few issues to our friends who profess to hate or "just not get" comics. And now we're recommending it to you, our internet friends. Go buy it.
