23andme.com, the personal genetics venture started by Sergey Brin's fiancée, has disclosed no angel investors or venture capital backers. Yet Anne Wojcicki's startup is behaving like a much larger operation: hiring so aggressively it employs a full-time recruiter; advertising nine open positions; and 23andme.com even has a grandly-titled director of reputation and governance. So, it's in stealth mode? More likely, Alarm Clock suggests, it's simply backed by the billionaire Google founder and friends.
