Six Apart, maker of Movable Type software, is with $50m in revenues and settled management one of the more stable companies to emerge from the blogging boom. Which makes the San Francisco's company's current turmoil all the more extraordinary. Personal information about the venture's execs and investors, including both social security numbers and home addresses, have been posted to Usenet groups by what appears to be a disgruntled insider. The list of people exposed includes both Ben and Mena Trott, Six Apart's two founders, and investors such as David Marquardt and David Hornik of August Capital. The embarrassment follows the departure of a troubled engineer, who had had a widely-known affair with the wife of his boss. But we haven't established any connection between the two events. Six Apart execs are locked in a board meeting, and can't be reached for comment. Update: Barak Berkowitz, chief exec of Six Apart, says the leak breached California privacy legislation, and the company will pursue any culprits. According to Berkowitz, the company's board meeting had been previously scheduled.
