Is anybody else noticing the pattern to Tim Draper's international expansion? The DFJ founder invested in Skype, one of Estonia's greatest sources of foreign exchange, apart from the Baltic's booming business catering to British bachelor parties. Draper, who would be Silicon Valley's pledgemaster if the venture capitalists all joined a fraternity, is excited by the opportunities in Southeast Asia, as this photograph from Vietnam illustrates. It's entirely appropriate, therefore, that DFJ's latest overseas affiliate, with a $40m fund, should be in Brazil, land of Orkut, Rio Carnaval, and many many porn blogs.
