Donald Rumsfeld sure is having a busy time in New York! First there's his secretive meetings with various publishers—Galleycat caught him at Penguin yesterday, and we hear he's making the rounds today. Then, by night, old Rummy takes Manhattan by storm! He's old, so he shows up for dinner a little before 6 p.m. last night at the Beacon on 56th Street. Dark suit, SUV at the curb. "Imagine Rumsfeld, shielded by a wall of dames, one of whom is definitely the target of audience for Don't Ask, Don't Tell," says a fellow diner, who wanted to know who the butch blonde was. But what's the book is what we wanna know. And is it called "Not Sorry 'Bout That"? Sure, there's probably a good Anne Sullivan joke in there too.
