Congratulations to the Hamptons Independent for publishing the single most offensive newspaper column ever. In "satirizing" the Obama/Clinton feud, the offending column manage to insult and degrade women, blacks, and every literate person on Earth in equal measure. Oh, it was written by the editor. Under the pseudonym "YoMama Bin Barack." That doesn't even make sense. Anyway—black people speak pidgin english, and many of them are in jail. "White women" enjoy being "bitch slapped." Too bad Bloomberg's not in the race, the only thing the column's really missing is blood libel. [Plum]

Makes me wanna hop right on that Jitney to get a copy.
"Independent owner Jerry Della Femina was too busy eating gabagool and bangin' his goomah to read da ting before it went to press or whatevah. You got a problem wit dat?"
Boy, those Southern newspapers sure are racist. Glad I don't live in the Deep South.
@dweeb: Yeah, and what about the Polish-Iranian assistant editor?
@theobviouschild: He declared a holy war on himself and then surrendered immediately.
@Colonel Mustard: [raucous laughter; hearty applause]
The guy who writes this column, Rick Murphy, is not only the editor of the Independent - in and of itself no endorsement of the man, whatsoever - he is the liberal Ollie to Jerry's fascist Stanley.
What this means is that it gets cold and quiet out here in late January.
Too cold.
Too quiet.
Thank you for this. I'm living in the Hamptons currently, after 5 years in SF, and I'd forgotten what a vicious, petty, Republican lair of DICK this place is.
The original Yankee settlers of the Hamptons arrived in 1640, spent a generation or two robbing the hapless local Indians blind, then moved West toward NYC as soon as feasible. The reason: the Hamptons are cold, wet, and too far from civilization even by today's standards. And frankly, the beaches suck. One more thing. Yo, millionaires, buying those big mansions on the dunes? Ever wonder why 10 or 11 generations of previous residents never built on the beach? Because it's wet, cold, dunes are not exactly your most stable platform to build on, and everything that doesn't blow down in the fall nor'easters blows down in the March storms. Oh, and enjoy your insurance bills.
Now, about that racism ...
@Arundel:
Re: leaving SF for the Hamptons. This was a conscious decision?
Dan's Papers features a response from Fruity Jewliani.
Hey, a target for that hurricane we've been waiting for!
@flipper baby: Your pithy comment managed to convey both overt racial prejudice and homophobia...impressive.
And yes, I know Jewish isn't a race. I was just trying to fit in with Flipper Baby.
Wow ... first John Gibson and now this. This is not a good week for the stupid, is it?
About Hamptons hurricanes -- Hamptons have Always Blown.
And I'm not getting any younger!
Even racism appears to have been affected by global warming.
Is that too oblique?
Where can I get a Doctorate in Blackness?
The lesson here is that if you are going to spew hateful, ugly racial slurs at least BE FUNNY! (I do not advocate the spewing of hateful, ugly racial slurs...or the spewing of anything for that matter.)
@mordecai1908: Strangely, the Stupid think this exactly why it's been a great week for them.
@Auntie_Meme: Damn, I was worried it was too subtle.
"Jist?"
Are black people not supposed to know how to spell either?
Can we get a special tag for stories that make even Pareene write earnestly?
We should all chip in to buy this genius a trailer complete with a rebel flag...and an English dictionary. Set 'em up right!
