Michael Arrington on why Seattle drools, Valley rules

TechCrunch editor Michael Arrington takes 711 words to explain why there's no better place than Silicon Valley to work yourself to death on a startup. Here's a readable version of his manifesto:

I criticize Silicon Valley myself. If you want a well balanced life, Silicon Valley is not for you. But if you want to change the world and are willing to do absolutely anything to achieve your dreams, there is no better place to be than here. Having tens of thousands of bright tech minds around you gives entrepreneurs a critical competitive advantage.

Sure Seattle is beautiful. If you want to have a balanced, healthy lifestyle, that's a great place to do it. If you don't think you have what it takes to make it in Silicon Valley, maybe Seattle or other mini-tech hubs is the place for you. If you aren't willing to take advantage of every possible advantage to make your crazy startup idea work, perhaps you shouldn't be an entrepreneur.
