Actor, model, cheesecake entrepreneur, and publicist Michael Sands is helping his client, Britney manager/ extorter Sam Lutfi, protect his valuable reputation by craftily playing gossip outlets against each other. TMZ reported last night that the LAPD is investigating Lutfi for illegally drugging Britney. Hours later, PageSix.com struck back with a report that the po-po is doing no such thing [UPDATE: Radar.com takes credit for the original scoop]! The evidence is clear:
Michael Sands, Sam Lutfi's spokesman, exclusively tells us that "Internet tabloid gossip Web sites need to stop reporting bogus stories without knowing the truth. They need to stop brainwashing the public."
..... Reported PageSix.com.
Bonus hilarious quote:
Follow-up calls to the LAPD Media Relations department were answered by Officer Lee, who said, "Who would you believe? The LAPD or Internet reports?"

chris noth looks like shit.
@ellagood: But that eagle is lookin' good. And if you don't think so, you hate America. Clearly.
@hortense: Looking at that screencap, my first thought was: Lee Greenwood has a website?
I'd side with the Internet, if just because I can't be beat down or shot by Google. Yet.
@ellagood: Lol ohhh snap!
@hortense: i thought the eagle was michael sands.
I confused him with Lee Sands from QVC and the eelskin wallets...
@ellagood: I stand corrected.
Hilarious bonus quote! LAPD -- I get it!
The LAPD? Not believable? OMG!
@ellagood: Right there with ya. Can you imagine having an eagle as your personal media image consultant? You'd be unstoppable.
I believe it's actually "cheesecaketrepreneur."
@ellagood: Actually that's Chris Noth and Mark Harmon's chile.
LAPD is supposed to say "We can't comment on an ongoing investigation." (That's what they told me when I asked about the Black Dahlia case.) Is PageSix sure they got the right number?
