Yes, I'd say there's something missing. You left out the bench on the north end of McCarren Park where I drink every night with my alcoholic Polish buddies. Also, the tree next to the bench is fairly popular.

For the most part, these places don't sound very interesting (although Old Town is always sort of fun). Maybe the journo's want to keep the good places to themselves.
