Wouldn't it be exciting to be on Broadway? Even if only for a day? Well, if you were in the cast of Glory Days you now know what that feels like! Following miserable reviews and terrible box office during previews, the musical about young folks has closed after one day.

I really enjoyed this post, Richard.
Their second musical should be about a musical written by 23 yos that closes in one day.
The best part about last night's performance was when that tap-dancer jumped off the balcony and gave the cast the ole sandmand sweep to end the show.
Oof. But what will happen to all the subway ads!?
"I just don't know what happened," said Max Bialystock, president of Bialystock & Bloom Productions. "The saddest thing is that our backers will never get their money back. Oh well -- that's show business!"
@TedSez: The original title was Glory Days for Hitler, eh?
Just like Bruce always said, Glory Days will indeed pass you by in the wink of a young girl's eye.
and now they are Les Miserables. (sorry, too easy)
God, it's so super sad when a big Broadway show closes. I don't know why it's so sad. But it's like, so many people with all those, like, superbig theater hopes and dreams (I swear, people still have those!), all going along with the charade that this show was good, THIS show was different. Seriously. It makes me sad...AND THEN I GO FUCKIN' WATCH IRON MAN AND THAT SHIT ROCKS MY FUCKIN' SOCKS OFF, FUCK!
WackoJacko --don't laugh, it's probably in development now, somewhere.
Why does the name "Lizzie Leopold" sound so familiar?
@Phyllis Nefler:
Psst...Shhh. We will carefully peel them down and sell them on eBay.
"Carrie" at least lasted two nights.
Wasn't there a show that once closed during intermission?
@louise: Oh I totally know! Because when all else fails, go meta. Exhibit A: "Title of Show"
I totally saw this in previews at a regional theater before it went to Broadway. I nicknamed it "Trite: The Musical". I felt like a complete bitch for hating this show since it was written by a bunch of 23-year-olds, but honestly, it was just weak. I could not BELIEVE when it got transferred to Broadway. Now that all of New York agrees with me, I feel rather validated.
