Here's an image from Design and the Elastic Mind, the new show at the Museum of Modern Art. By showing the destination of international phone calls, by neighborhood, the map provides a guide to New York's ethnic clusters much more up-to-date than any census data. Magnified, a breakdown of calls from Flushing, which has a large population of recent immigrants from Korea and Portugal. (The full image is available from MIT, which contributed the exhibit to MoMA's show.)
