Coquettish Anderson Cooper of CNN sat down with a former pimp, who gently walked the delicate anchor through the process of making money as a high-priced hooker, and left Cooper floored over how much money can be made as a prostitute. The pimp told Cooper exactly how fun whoring can be for all involved, how high-class prostitution is not nearly as exploitive as low-rent sex, and how there's not much difference between $1,000-per-hour call girls vs. $4,000 per-hour call girls. When the discussion turned to money, the Coop got a little flustered: "That's a lot of money for, fuh... for an hour — uh, it surprised me." Anderson, everyone understands you have a job to do. There's no need to be embarrassed just because it sounds like you already knew something about hooker pricing. After all, it's not like you're keeping some big sexual secret from the world. Video after the jump.

Said Itzler, "I don't know if her boobs are real or not.. but she looks good."--As always, The Silver Fox, keepin' em' honest.
Best news graphic ever.
breaking news: callgirls "not really doing it for the sex, they're doing it for the money." ya think?
"She's clearly an attractive lady." Anderson, MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!!!1!
"I'm glad you have a new business venture." ANDERSON, STOP IT!!!!!!1!
@In Other News...: I sensed the Chinatown-esque conflict within him as well. She IS attractive! She isn't attractive! She's both!! She's both!!
Everybody, Anderson included, seems to need a good, strong drag on a post-coital cigarette. This story is spent. Keeping at it chafes. Let's all fall asleep cuddling.
@crooked_teeth: I think he thinks he can't take any more of this interview and could go for a Bronze Jonesy, if you know what I mean.
@rosaluxembourgeoise: I like your commenting train of thought. Zzzzzzzz....
From what I hear that Obama fella is a pimp as well

I love that this guy is talking about gross and net. He might have been running a whorehouse, but he was making sure to pay into Social Security and a 401k.
@Final: yeah totally, but i doubt the virgins in heaven charge, at least that much. (besides life.)
"In the happiness business."
Yes,such joy getting fisted by a sweaty fat guy coked out his mind.
I like his tie.
It's very loud.
The way he explains to Anderson what the "girl next door" look means, clearly indicates that he too thinks Anderson is gay.
So how much is Anderson an hour? Maybe he can help me violate the Mann Act.
"...there's not much difference between $1,000-per-hour call girls vs. $4,000 per-hour call girls. ..."
Please.
If there were no other reason to mistrust this particular pimp's "smart shopping," it would be this.
Capitalism is, if anything, brutal.
There is, for example, a *significant* difference between a stay in a hospital that costs $1000 per night, and one that costs $4000.
That said, not *all* $4000-per-night hospitals are the same.
Some $4000-per-night hospitals are $4000-per-night hospitals in name only.
To get your money's worth takes some research and maybe even calling-in a few markers around town.
It's on this brass-tacks level where Spitzer betrayed himself.
He thought himself a "high roller," a genuine player. Although, in the big world of men who frequent pricey prostitutes, there are thousands of men who could easily have bought and sold Spitzer a million times over.
Spitzer was too giddy about how far he'd come up in the world, too dizzy about the fact that he could afford a $5K-per-night hooker, that he never bothered to do his basic "Consumer Reports" cost/benefit research about the world of hiring $5K-per-night hookers.
Such is the frequent fate of the arriviste: an attraction to the dazzle, without any thought to the dazzle's context.
@dollars_and_sense: The Virgins in heaven not only charge but they're only accepting Euros now.
It's good to see this guy found a publicist eventually... and is on CNN whoring his "matchmaking" services
@Hamud: I missed that issue of Consumer Reports.
But it does beg the larger question - should there be industry standards for diamond-rating our nation's whore supply? Should ISO perhaps, or maybe FASB get involved? I know an esteemed public servant who is looking for a job, he might be the perfect choice for presiding over such an august ratings panel.
@PattyCake:
As in all mercantile matters, the market ought guide itself: your basic consumer is far more exacting and discriminating than any bureaucrat.
And your basic consumer is very aware that not all transactions of currency-for-goods-or-services are equal.
This is where Spitzer made his fatal error.
He never seems to have imagined or guessed at the "upper limit" of the particular game he was buying into.
There are are great many very, very wealthy married men who frequent prostitutes often, but who also know that a divorce would cost them a pretty penny.
In other words, they are very careful about how they fool around. They know how the game is played. They know how to move money around in ways that don't attract unwanted attention, from the IRS or a spouse.
But poor Spitzer was a newbie. Scrambling and over-eager. He thought the high price he was paying for his women was in itself assurance that he was in a world where such play was protected.
Are people who use Zagat Survey arrogant?
Maybe. Or perhaps they can't imagine that there's a higher standard.
@LeGagneur People think Anderson Cooper is Gay? I thought they knew it.
@PattyCake: USDA inspections! They'll finally have meat they enjoy inspecting. Prime, select, grade A..?
I was really hoping this whole Spitzer thing was going to produce another Anderson Cooper "bits and pieces" moment...
@Hamud: just a quickie: does the $4,000 hospital have $1,000 an hour "nurses"? or is there a day rate?
When is the class issue going to come up? We have a class of people in this country who can blow $20k on a night of sex while the rest of the country can't pay the mortgage on their new construction McMansions, can't fill the tank of their monster trucks and have to install their 62" flat screen HDTVs by themselves.
Anderson, puh-leez... you know how money can be made in the escort business... Like you never peruse the back of HX or Next.
According to MoDowd, who knows of these things, Jane, who costs $1,000 and Tiffany, who costs $4,000, is the same girl.
@Hamud: Im not sure you can call an (alleged) 10 yr connoisseur of hookerdom a "newbie"...
I think he probably just got confident and lazy
James Lipton would have been the perfect interview.
Isn't anyone else wishing they'd gone ahead and made that movie where Jeremey Piven plays this guy? They could have maybe called it The King of all Pimps.
@thelambchop: Not according to late night HBO.
Also, "There was talk of Jeremy Piven playing me in a movie." Have sadder words EVER been said?
@awhatsname: I propose Lindsay Lohan for Dupre, and Cookie Monster for Spitzer.
@sugartitties: Maybe at Riker's this talk of Jeremy Piven potentially playing him was, like, hot or something.
