New Yorker fact checkers are freaking out about submissions from comic writer and accused bullshitter David Sedaris, so sister Amy Sedaris (also comic writer, arguably funnier) had some fun: "Once, a checker asked Amy to verify if it was true that 'David paid her a dime for a chicken leg at childhood dinners.' But the comic star caused havoc when she jokingly said she was actually paid 20 cents, forcing the checker to call David back about the conflicting facts in his piece." [Post]

Not only is it dumb, it's not even funny. At all. Re-write!
"Parade" used to fact check the most common spelling. If you used the word "dirt" someone would look it up to make sure it was spelled corrrectly.
Isn't fact-checking David Sedaris as pointless as fact-checking, say, Steve Martin or, old-what's-her-name.... Judith Miller?
The Sedarises are teasing the fact checkers! How cruel! Time for a move into publishing, oh confused ones. They need you.
Mein gott! Is that Amy Sedaris? I hardly recognized her. Not sure whether it's the glowy, youthful skin, or the heinous glasses that are throwin' off my chi more.
What does Johnny Depp have to do with this?
This story makes me smile (yay Sedaris family) and cry (stupid fact checkers).
Looking at that picture of Amy S., I'd drop a dime for some chicken leg too...
@AuntPeniston: agree her skin is delightfully youth-y.
Am I the only one who thinks Amy Sedaris is just plain annoying?
Do you suppose Sedaris bathes in the blood of Panamanian peasants for skin that awesomely youth-y?
@Adminitraitor: Yes, clearly.
@Adminitraitor:
Oui.
I feel retarded - I never made the connection between the two of 'em
@Adminitraitor: Yes, you are.
@azi: @Sailor: @unutterable: To Amy Sedaris' loyal fan base, my apologies.
@Adminitraitor: Duly noted. Now let's all make delicious cheeseballs!
