Does the Google E-Mail Breathalyzer Work?

We told you about Google's new Mail Goggles, the digital Breathalyzer that aims to prevent users from sending drunk e-mails by presenting them with math problems to solve. It seemed to pose several problems, the main one being that most Americans can't solve simple math problems, even while sober. Time tested it out with a couple bottles of wine:

1:37 a.m. I drink some more wine and try to tell a friend that his hipster arm tattoo is going to look ridiculous when he gets older, but I can't type the words correctly and I get stumped on 517-139. I keep forgetting to carry the numbers. "Water and bed for you," says Mail Goggles, but then it lets me try again. And again. My insult succeeds on the third try.

Conclusion: too easy! But: "there's still the text message, the Facebook message, and the good old-fashioned drunken phone call. There are plenty of ways to humiliate yourself if you try."

Google should also make something to make bloggers take a sobriety test—drunkblogging is tearing this city apart.
