A couple of days ago, Vanity Fair contributing editor Vicky Ward reported that Andrés Piedrahita, Walter Noel's son-in-law and a senior exec at Fairfield Greenwich, recently took possession of a $30 million yacht, and has since been spotted cruising the Mediterranean. Piedrahita's response? He's just showing off the boat to potential buyers, silly.
[A] lawyer for Fairfield Greenwich, Thomas Mulligan, told us Piedrahita couldn't cancel the purchase of the boat. "Mr. Piedrahita is attempting to sell the yacht and has been on the yacht with prospective buyers," Mulligan said. "When the yacht is sold, the proceeds will go into a settlement pool in case of a settlement with Irving Picard, the Madoff bankruptcy trustee."
And you can't expect him to do that anywhere, can you? He has no choice but to be in St. Tropez right now. A yacht like that needs to be seen in its natural habitat, clearly.
