Nic Cage's Cash Crunch; The War of the Wannabes

• Nic Cage has been having some money troubles as of late and he recently sued his business manager for allegedly mishandling his finances. Now the manager is striking back. He's filed a countersuit against Cage and claims the actor is an out-of-control spender who, in just the last few years, has picked 15 different homes around the world, 22 cars (including 9 Rolls-Royces), four yachts, a jet, and a Caribbean island. Oh, and Cage also blew a fortune by constantly hosting "Gatsby-style parties at his residences." [WSJ]
• Paris Hilton's plan to remake her image and position herself as more "mature" isn't off to a very good start. The cops had to be called to her house in LA last night after she and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt had a nasty fight. [TMZ]
• Wannabe reality TV star Tinsley Mortimer and "wannabe socialite" Devorah Rose got into "a fight" the other night. Fortunately, two cameras were rolling the entire time, so you'll get to see it yourself in about 6 months. [P6]
• The co-owner of Table 8 at the Cooper Square Hotel is under suspicion for secretly giving his girlfriend a drug to force her to have an abortion and may soon be charged with killing the couple's unborn child. Grim. [NYDN]
Charlie Gibson claims he has "tremendous respect" for his ABC colleague Diane Sawyer, but he supposedly "badmouths her openly and often" behind the scenes. An ABC spokeswoman called the claims "bullsh*t," while a less excitable Gibson said it was all "just silly." [P6]

• Another day, another Lindsay Lohan temper tantrum: This time she supposedly went ballistic when she was offered $1,000 in free clothing and accessories to attend an event and then tried to make off with $15,000 worth of free stuff. [Fox News]
• Cindy Crawford's alleged extortionist, Edis Kayalar, has turned himself in to
police in Germany. [Us]
• Does Rihanna have a new boyfriend? Rumor has it she's dating Tristan Wilds of 90210 and Wire fame, who is also friends with Chris Brown. This should work out really, really nicely, no? [NYDN]
• Alex Rodriguez gave Kate Hudson a ring. But not that kind of ring. Another kind. "He has a World Series ring, and now she does, too," says a friend of the couple. How adorable. [MSNBC]
• Despite David Letterman's best attempts, Penelope Cruz still wouldn't
say whether she's engaged to Javier Bardem. She said she doesn't give
details about her personal life because she's "allergic to that." [People]
Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband, Ojani Noa, says he's been being followed and has been receiving death threats ever since he attempted to sell a book and sex tape about J. Lo. Lopez's side claims Noa is just "paranoid" and the guy following him was a process server trying to give him legal documents. [P6]
• The guy in New Moon who is not Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner? His name is Kellan Lutz, and apparently the security guard at the movie's premiere didn't know him because he nearly wouldn't let him in. [P6]
