In case you are following the current Somali Pirate War, here is an update.

Five of the freebooters who recently released the Saudi ship Sirius Star after being paid a ransom, drowned in a storm off the Somali coast when their little boat capsized. Their portion of the booty, which was split between 18 souls, followed them to their dark, murky graves.

It is a widely known fact, dating back to maybe something I just made up, that most picaroons can't swim. It has something to do with their religion or the fact that they all have peg legs or that they just really appreciate the curious little ironies of life.
