Oh, wonderful. The conspiracy nuts who think Barack Obama FAKED HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE have a friend in Congress.

Freshman Republican Representative Bill Posey introduced a bill yesterday demanding that, uh, presidential campaign committees prove that their candidate is American, or something. It is 100% indisputable that Obama was born in Hawaii—which, unlike, say, Panama, is a US state!—but that doesn't stop people from disputing it. You know, that stuff was contained to the internet for a while, where it belongs, but now it is a bill in congress.

Cynthia McKinney, the lovably nutty former congresswoman from Georgia, used to introduce a bill every session demanding congressional investigations into who killed Tupac. This is kinda like that except we think the Tupac thing is a great idea!
