Sad Lisa Nowak, the 'astronut' who wanted nothing more than to be loved—and to avoid soiling her pants on her mission to attack, kidnap, and destroy her romantic rival—has been sentenced to 50 hours of community service.

Lest you don't recall: Nowak drove from Houston to Orlando in one fell swoop (clad in adult diapers to preclude the need for rest stops) so she could attack her astronaut ex-boyfriend's Air Force captain girlfriend, thereby winning him back. The ex and the girlfriend now live a relatively peaceful, private life in Alaska, though the girlfriend is periodically terrorized by nightmares about Nowak and other heebie-jeebies. The ex got kicked out of NASA. It is highly unlikely that either will accept Nowak's court-mandated apology for the "misunderstanding." [BBC]
