Theoretical Physicist Dr. Michio Kaku was discussing the possible energy alternatives to rocket fuel on The Science Channel's new show Sci-Fi Science. Where did they go for reasonable suggestions? A sci-fi convention of course!
The show takes a lazy jab at nerds in Boba Fett, Storm Trooper, and Star Trek costumes, making theories ranging from reasonable hypothesis, to outside the box ingenuity, to television inspired, to the completely ridiculous.
Please. The whole segment is just an excuse to make fun of nerds. To take a camera crew to a science fiction convention where the sole purpose is to expose the "silliness" of a handful of extreme fans. This somehow results in good TV? No, it results in a point-and-laugh segment that's been beaten to death already. And no TV makes us madder than lazy TV.
