Most of us remember the 'Disney Afternoon,' but if it hadn't been for Gummi Bears notables like Ducktales and Rescue Rangers might never have come into existence. It was the longest running series in Disney's network televsion lineup.
They were dashing, daring, courageous, caring, and delicious. If you don't know the chorus to the theme song by heart you are either not a child of the eighties or you didn't own a television. They premiered back to back with Disney's other network prototype, The Wuzzles. The animal hybrids that inhabited they mythical land of "Wuz," frightened a generation of confused children, and so lasted only 13 episodes. The Gummi Bears were renewed for six years straight.
