Born in Texas, March first hit the stage in high school productions. She continued acting through college, at Northwestern, where she performed in A Midsummer's Night's Dream. She made her Broadway debut in 1999 in Death of a Salesman, and a year later, she was cast in her most noted role, Alexandra Cabot on Law and Order: SVU. March left SVU in 2003, but the writers have found numerous ways to lure her back in: she was in episodes in 2005 and sporadically from 2009 through 2012. In 2006 March got her own spinoff, Conviction, but sadly for ADA Cabot and her young trainees, the show was canceled after one season. When she's not prosecuting sex offenders on NBC, she can be found in minor roles on 30 Rock, Grey's Anatomy, and Rescue Me.
March married chef Bobby Flay in 2005 and has appeared as a guest judge on four of his Food Network shows. They were set up by March's SVU costar, Mariska Hargitay. [Image via AP]
