The channel that brought you Bridezillas and marathons of The Golden Girls (is anyone hotter than Betty White these days?) is now bringing you a new twist on reality television: Sunset Boulevard Sunset Daze.
The show features a cast of eight seniors living in the largest retirement community in America. A quick montage of scenes indicates that the following will be feature: skydiving, naked hot tubbing, clay pigeon shooting, dating, a drag queen rodeo and what appears to be line dancing in Wal-Mart. A bonus is that the cast isn't very familiar with reality television so they aren't playing up to the cameras too much (yet).
Some standouts in the cast from the previews include Norma Desmond who is going by the pseudonym Gail, Jack aka "Romeo" who tries to pick up women with the same jokes your uncle Bernie used to tell in 1956, Sandy and Joanne who seem like they would be a blast to have cocktails with and Ron who has a thing for Sheryl Crow.
WeTV describes the show as Golden Girls meets Jersey Shore. That description alone makes the show worth tuning in for. The show premieres tonight on WeTV at 10pm (9pm central) and we will be liveblogging tonight with yours truly.
