China Loves America's Nuts, and Other Funny JokesS

The New York Times: brave enough to write a story about "China's Taste For Nuts," but too timid to laugh about it. Shame.

This year, China will emerge as the top foreign buyer of American almonds, more than doubling its purchases from two years ago, according to data from the Almond Board of California.

Oh yea? They love our nuts more than anyone else in the whole wide world, huh? In their mouths?

Chinese consumers tend to buy their nuts roasted, salted and still in the shell. The shells become brittle enough during the roasting that they can be cracked easily by hand.

Watch out, the Chinese are cracking our nuts, with their hands!

"They've basically gone from nothing to No. 1 in a relatively short period of time," said Keith Rigg, of the Minturn Nut Company, an almond grower and exporter in Le Grand, Calif. "It's really taken off like a rocket."

That's not all that's taken off like a rocket.

We're bored with this.
