Hamptons Contest sponsored by Gawker Media ("Contest") begins at 12PM PST, July 14, 2010, ends at 12PM PST Thursday July 15, 2010, and is open to legal residents of the 50 United States plus the District of Columbia excluding residents of California and Tennessee. Entrants must be a minimum of 21 years of age at the time of entry. Employees and members of their immediate families and households of Gawker Media ("Sponsor"), its subsidiaries, affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies ("Promotion Entities") and anyone involved in the production, development or handling of this Sweepstakes are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
To enter, entrants must send electronic mail correspondence to email@example.com. The email must contain (1) full name, age and address, and (2) IQ score. Entries must be received by 12 PM on Thursday, July 15th. Limit of one entry per person or e-mail address.
Prizes and Approximate Retail Values ("ARV")
10 Prize(s) will be awarded: Trip for two (2) to Hampton Bays, New York on Saturday July 17th. Prize consists of round-trip ground transportation from New York City and one (1) prize pack, at Gawker's discretion (ARV $50). All additional travel is the winner's responsibility. If winner is not available to attend, prize package will be forfeited and another winner selected. Total ARV of all prizes is $500. Any expenses not mentioned above are the winner's responsibility. Taxes are the winner's responsibility. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. No substitution for prize except as may be necessary due to unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded, at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received.
Entries will be rated by a panel consisting of executives of Gawker Media, who will select ten (10) winners based on the Judging Criteria (defined below). The Judging Panel will randomly select winners out of all eligible entries. Limit of one winner per household. Potential winners will be notified by e-mail to the address from which the submission was provided and may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. Winner's Affidavit must be returned within 1 day of the date on the notification letter or an alternate winner will be selected. Any prize notification letter or prize returned as undeliverable will be awarded to an alternate winner. You are not a certified winner until validated and you receive official notification from the judging organization.
Contestants agree to be bound by these Rules. Prize acceptance constitutes permission (except where prohibited) to use winner's name, photo, video, likeness and entry (in whole or in part) for publicity purposes without additional compensation. Participants, by participating in this Contest, hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, public relations and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, from and against, any and all rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, including but not limited to any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, compensatory, incidental or consequential, to person, including death and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize in the Contest, or their participation in the Contest, or their participation in any Contest or prize related activity, or any travel related to the Contest, or any travel for any prize related activity. Sponsor and its agents are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete or illegible entries or Internet technical, hardware, software, telephone, or transmission failures of any kind, which may limit a person's ability to enter the Contest. Sponsor and its agents are not responsible for any injury or damage to entrants' or any other person's computer related to or resulting from entering or downloading any materials in the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend advertising the Contest on the Internet should a computer virus, unauthorized intervention or other cause corrupt the integrity or proper conduct of the promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant found to be disrupting the operation of the Contest or its web site. If the integrity of the Internet portion of the Contest is compromised in any manner, Sponsor reserves the right to modify Contest and select winners from valid entries received that are unaffected by the problem. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of any online entrant, entrant will be deemed the individual named on the email.
