You know why certain people are scared of Mexican immigrants? Because they might bring their gay marriage-tolerating with them! Yes, Mexico, or at least the Mexican Supreme Court, is more progressive than the States when it comes to gay marriage.
Yesterday they ruled 9-2 that every one of Mexico's 31 states must recognize gay couples who were married in Mexico City, where such unions recently became legal. In theory, this could open the doors for total federal allowance of same-sex marriages. Either way, it's still a lot better than the US, where you can be a committed married couple in Massachusetts, but just a coupla fruits once you cross a few borders.
