As chaos reigns in neighboring Tunisia, Libya's "Brother Leader" Muammar Qaddafi went on television to say he is "very pained" to see another strongman fall. He's probably also upset over reports of riots breaking out in Libya.
"Tunisia now lives in fear ... Families could be raided and slaughtered in their bedrooms and the citizens in the street killed as if it was the Bolshevik or the American revolution," Qaddafi said in a heartfelt plea to his people yesterday, obviously hoping he doesn't get the Ben Ali treatment. He went on to blame "WikiLeaks, which publishes information written by lying ambassadors in order to create chaos."
Meanwhile, in Tunisia steady reports of gunfire and looting in the capital, Tunis, continue to come out, and booted former President Ben Ali's head of security has been arrested. From CNN's Ben Wedeman:
Here's video shot yesterday in Libya:
Brother Leader better watch his ass.
