It began as a simple racial slur by a white frat boy at the University of Alabama. But over the past week, college-based racism in America has snowballed into a certifiable trend. Observe:
- Georgetown (Kentucky) College: The Kappa Alpha chapter has been suspended "pending investigations into alleged racial slurs by fraternity members against a minority student."
- The University of Missouri at Columbia: A 19 year-old suspect was arrested for painting a racial slur on a statue on campus. (Please do click through for the mug shot.)
- Loyola University: A professor's been criticized for giving a lecture to a neo-Confederate group that supports secession of the Southern states. (He says he does not support their platform.)
- University of Alabama: In addition to the frat boy slur, there were also racial and ethnic slurs written in chalk on a sidewalk there last week!
