The Crazy Rules for Jersey Shore's Trip to Italy

Florence, Italy will play host to our eight favorite guidos from Jersey Shore for the series' fourth season, and now the city's mayor of has issued a litany of rules the show has to follow as it takes the circus abroad. These are going to be impossible to follow.

Here are the stipulations that Mayor Matteo Renzi laid out for the production, according to an Italian newspaper.

  • The cast will not be filmed in bars and clubs that serve alcohol.
  • The cast will not be filmed drinking in public.
  • The show will not be filmed to promote Florence as a drinking town.
  • The show should be filmed in a manner to promote Italy (not Americans visiting Italy) and feature its culture and good food.

Renzi also won't allow MTV's cameras in any of the city's historic buildings, but said he can't stop them from using the city as a backdrop to all their drama. Can he also make a proclamation that the season not be dominated by Sammi and Ronnie fighting and that no one can ever use the word "done?" Is that too much to ask?

Man, a season of the Jersey Shore where the guidos can't go to clubs, can't drink in public, and can't promote drinking? This is going to be like the Masterpiece Theater reenactment of the reality show we all love. With these rules, we're going to be stuck with Snooki, JWOWW, The Situation, and the crew sitting in an apartment, getting hammered, and beating the crap out of each other. So, it will be just like the Miami season. Boring. [Corriere.it via NYP; photo via MTV]
