This Year's Hurricanes Need New Names

Have you seen the list of hurricane names that the National Hurricane Center is using this summer? They're pretty bad and not at all relevant to trends in baby naming or popular culture in general. What sort of names should we use instead?

In all fairness, the NHC uses several rotating lists that are only changed after there are catastrophic hurricanes. For example, the list for 2011 is the same list that was in use in 2005, but Katrina has been taken off the list and replaced with Katia. Katia? That's not even a name you would find on America's Next Top Model, which is basically a compendium of ridiculous names. Other names on the list include Don (yawn), Ophelia (what is this, Shakespeare?), and Gert (sorry, but the last living person named Gert died in 1989).

I decided to take a stab at replacing this year's list of stormy monikers with some that feel a bit more current. Feel free to come up with your own submissions in the comments.
