The International Olympic Committee has announced that Pyeongchang, South Korea has won the dubious honor of hosting the Olympic Winter Games seven years from now. The popular ski resort beat out Annecy, France and Munich.
Pyeongchang is located in the Taebaek Mountains, which only get as high as about 4,000 feet, so that'll make creating big ski runs sorta difficult perhaps, but otherwise this sounds great! Good for them. Hopefully they can avoid going horribly broke. [Telegraph; photo via Getty]
