Just when the stripper-led Dougherty gang was beginning to make us like Florida and its statewide rejection of "decency" and "morality" and "laws," along comes allegedly abusive defense lawyer Terry Lee Locy and his naked, sword-dueling style of courtship.
Locy, who in true Florida fashion once represented a "man was convicted of robbing a credit union and hiding the stolen cash in his prosthetic leg," got in an argument with his girlfriend about, what else, his "drinking in excess." He threatened her with a mirror; she threw a hook at him; he took a shower, and then:
After showering, a nude Locy handed a sheathed sword to his girlfriend and said, "You're going to need this," the court document states.
Locy then retrieved a larger sword, pulled it from the sheath and told her, "I'm going to kill you," the affidavit says.
Unfortunately, Locy did not live up to the standards of honor demanded in a duel, and proceeded to throw his girlfriend onto a couch and punch her "several times," before leaving the house with his sword, still nude. He faces five years in prison on charges of "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence battery."
