Tweeting Teen Won't Apologize to Crybaby Kansas Governor

High-school student Emma Sullivan has decided not to follow her principal's orders and write an apology to the Republican governor of Kansas, Samuel Dale Thinskin Crybaby Brownback, for tweeting that he #blowsalot. She was only speaking the truth. Apologizing would be phony and politician-y.

To refresh your memories (too many holiday cocktails and helpings of tryptophan-bird can cause temporary dementia), one of Brownback's lackeys called up Sullivan's principal to complain about the #blowsalot remark after finding it during a Twitter search. According to the Associated Press, "Sullivan received a scolding at school and was ordered to send Brownback an apology letter. She said Prinicipal Karl R. Krawitz even suggested talking points for the letter she was supposed to turn in Monday."

But on Sunday, Sullivan announced her decision via Twitter—adding that "I hope this opens the door for average citizens to voice their opinion & to be heard! #goingstrong." Now what happens—suspension? Expulsion? Having to write "Sam Brownback makes Kansas great" 1,000 times on a blackboard? We'll provide updates on her status as they become available.

When Sullivan posted her Brownback tweet on November 21, she had less than 100 followers. As of Monday morning she had more than 5,700. Popularity-seeking kids, take note: If you want to increase your social media followings, type something insulting about Sam Brownback. Just keep insulting him and insulting him until one of his staffers contacts your school, then watch as all the cards fall into place. (Not that Sullivan was seeking fame—she wasn't—but she's obviously hit upon a winning technique.)

But seriously: Isn't it awesome that she's defending her opinions and beliefs against the dumb-butt governor? That takes spine. She's got a bright future.
