About the Role
Gawker Media's advertising team seeks a web-savvy, organized, media-obsessed college grad for its Ad Ops Coordinator position. The Ad Ops team works very closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Creative teams, which together are the overall Advertising group that is responsible for brand advertising and monetization on the Gawker Media properties. In a nutshell, you'll be working with the rest of our Ad Ops team to manage, optimize, and report on our many advertising campaigns.
Requirements
This is the perfect position for a college graduate or someone with 1-2 years of workplace experience. You are ready to dive into the new media world — you have a personal interest in and passion about digital media and advertising. You have relevant internship or entry level experience at other industry-related publishers, agencies, or other organizations. Basically, you can talk the talk. You know what a CPM is and the difference between a pageview and an impression.
- You're driven, detail-oriented, and meticulous (yay, left-brainers who love working with data!)
- Proactive in prioritizing daily tasks and keeping your own to-do list
- Eager to problem solve, troubleshoot, and learn new concepts
- Assertive and comfortable with direct client communication
- Basic knowledge of HTML and keeping a blog (the "tech" side of blogging)
- Interest in web trends and technologies
- Experience with taking screenshots, cropping, and basic image editing
- Familiarity with Excel and formulas is a must
- We use Google products such as Adsense, Analytics, and Docs daily, so more points if you are familiar with them.
- Banner trafficking experience or knowledge of DFP or another ad server is very helpful, but not necessary.
Notes
This is a full-time, entry-level position in Gawker Media's NYC headquarters. Salary and benefits will be provided, as well as not-so-uptight work environment complete with free Monday morning breakfasts (and a wide array of bagel choices) and a rooftop for after work hangouts.
How to Apply

- Resume in plaintext in the body of the email (no attachments!)
- A link to your twitter, personal blog or website, if you happen to have one
- A list of a couple different favorite websites (not ours!) that you regularly geek out over and why
- If you worked in the airline industry and started to see flights near the holidays already being overbooked by August, what would you do to create least amount of chaos? How do you think this related to online advertising?
