Delicious Horse Meat Is Only a Month Away

Don't listen when they tell you Congress can't get anything done: It has finally lifted the five-year ban on slaughtering horses for human consumption in the U.S., creating literally dozens of jobs for people who want to slaughter horses and unshackling the horsemeat-for-human-consumption industry from the heel of government oppression that has kept it down for so long. Let freedom reign.

In 2007, animal rights activists succeeded barring the U.S. Department of Agriculture from spending funds to inspect horsemeat—and since you can't sell horsemeat to people without regular inspections, it amounted to an effective ban on slaughtering horses. But according to the Associated Press, Congress quietly lifted that ban in a mid-November spending bill, and horse slaughterhouses could be up and running in as soon as a month, preparing delicious and affordable horsemeat treats for your family's dinner table.

Because it's not really a Great Recession until there are people eating dead horse.
